About Us

Welcome to Wallenpaupack Guide!

Located in the northern Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, Lake Wallenpaupack is a 5,700-acre, man-made reservoir with 52 miles of shoreline. Created in 1926 for hydroelectric power, it remains one of the largest lakes in the state and is managed in partnership with Brookfield Renewable and the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission.

Today, the lake is known for boating, fishing, swimming, and year-round recreation.

How the Site Started...

The more time we spent on Lake Wallenpaupack, the more I realized how much information was out there — boating rules, fishing details, launch locations, local events — but it was all scattered. I kept wishing there was one simple, organized place to find it.

At first, I was just keeping notes for our own family. Things we learned. Places we liked. Rules that weren’t always obvious. Seasonal events we didn’t want to miss.

Over time, it made sense to turn all of that into something others could use too. What started as a personal reference slowly grew into a local resource — and it continues to grow as I learn more each season.

About Me

I’m a married mom of three living near Lake Wallenpaupack. Our family spends as much time as possible on the water — boating, fishing, and enjoying everything this area has to offer. Like many families here, the lake is part of our everyday, seasonal life.

We’ve lived here for over eight years, and I’m still amazed by how much is happening — from local festivals and live music to restaurant specials and winter events. There’s always something going on, but it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking.

This site is a place to share helpful information, local highlights, and resources to make enjoying Lake Wallenpaupack a little easier.

As I discover more, I share it here. You’ll find researched product recommendations and direct links to local businesses, marinas, restaurants, and the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission. If you have an update, suggestion, or local event to share, feel free to reach out.

Thanks for being here — and welcome to lake life.
